Potholes are the devil in road cycling. They can cause the body to withstand a brief violent shock, and, worst of all, they can damage or even falll off the wheels, so we need to avoid the potholes, stones and ditches. But, any experienced driver knows that some times potholes are inevitable. Attention can be distracted on the ride, and no matter how careful we are, we can be "pooped".

Here are some ways to avoid road potholes and obstacles.

  • Pay attention to the potholes on the route you usually ride. If you know where they are, you can plan ahead and easily avoid them.

  • When riding at night, use a very bright headlights.

  • Be on your guard. Don't be distracted when riding. Pay attention to the road obstacles and avoid them in time.

  • Make sure the tire pressure is normal. If you keep riding in potholes, the tire will certainly be damaged to some extent.

  • When there is a pothole or obstacle in front, lift your ass and let the wheel run over, or jump over it if possible.

  • If it's a cycling team, the team leader must remind others that there are obstachles in front of the team to ensure the safety of passing through.

  • The most important thing is to have a sense of safety in riding, pay attention to obstacles on the way forward and avoid them safely. If you have no choice but to hit an obstacle, try to minimize your chances of injury.
